Analog phone: choose a classic workstation that is simple and effective

Why choose an analog desk phone?

The analog phone continues to be a safe bet, particularly in the corporate world. Indeed, despite the emergence of new technologies such as IP telephony (also known as VoIP), desk phone lines continue to be the most popular option today: around eight in ten UK households (81%) have a landline service. First appearing in the 1970s, analogue telephones transmit voice communications via physical lines run by telecom companies. Due to its age, analogue telephony has a reassuring familiarity and provides a measure of confidence for users, which partly explains its widespread use.

In addition, our corded phones offer excellent value for money, allowing you to easily set up your offices without having to stretch your budget. They are very simple to use, even if you are not an expert in telephony. This is why they are a practical addition to the workplace: they can be easily plugged into an analog phone jack or to any brand of PABX switchboard, and they offer a variety of intuitive features to make your work life easier.

What features do analog phones offer?

For increased convenience and a better experience, desk phones have features and benefits which will save you considerable time every day, these include:

• A contact directory: save all of your most frequent contacts easily and never again have to search for telephone numbers. Your contacts can be seen on the phone screen. To save even more time, you can even link a particular number to a code using the memory buttons. This way you would only have to dial the number "3" to call one of your regular suppliers, without having to dial the entire number, for example.

• An integrated answering machine: an answering machine is critical to the functioning of a business. It stops you from losing customers even when you are unable to answer the phone, either temporarily or when the office is closed. Callers can leave a message without being forced to call again and again until someone picks up the phone. Indeed, without an answering machine, customers will quickly lose patience and will either turn to competitors who can respond more quickly to their request, or they will simply forget to call back. Without an answering machine, how do you know which numbers are important to call back or not? Integrated answering machines can also be consulted remotely using your mobile phone, for example, when you are not in the office. So you can easily get back to important business contacts, even when you are on the go.

• A headphone jack: by connecting a telephone headset to your analog phone, you will no longer be forced to hold a handset when making a call, allowing you to avoid cramps and discomfort during extended phone calls. You can also free up your hands for other tasks at the same time: transcribe your conversation by hand, type up notes on your computer, tidy up your desk, etc. With a wireless headset, you can move around the office while monitoring your calls (pick up calls, adjust volume and mute the microphone) thanks to its 180-metre range. Say goodbye to being stuck at your desk!

• Hands-free functionality: if you do not have a headset, you can also use your desk phone loudspeaker to enjoy some of the advantages of using a headset to a limited degree. The hands-free function is also very useful if you want to organise small conference calls, as you will be able to share your caller’s audio with others in the room.
