The Cisco 8821 wireless IP phone offers multiple functions: make or receive phone calls and transfer calls to standby mode or another device.
Running technology
The following requirements are needed for the correct use of this device:
- Version 9.1 or higher of Cisco Unified Communications manager
- Cisco Wireless LAN controller (WLC) version 8.0121.0 or later
Additional information
Due to the differences in wireless network requirements between the 792x and 8821 cordless phones, a separate SSID may be required.
This is a new product from Cisco replacing the 792x and 8821 phones. You can configure this device through the Cisco Unified Communications Manager settings, manually through the administration tools or using third-party migration tools.
