With an impressive range of up to 25km in optimum conditions, this radio's capabilities exceed those of PMR446 radios. However, the increased power necessitates a license, priced at £75 for 5 years, with included application forms. All Mitex licensed radios seamlessly communicate on channels 13, 14, and 15.

*The maximum range given by manufacturers is based on ideal conditions, such as from hilltop to hilltop, but the range you actually get will be much less if you are in a built-up area. Trees, walls, hills and even the weather can affect the range of your two-way radio. The rule of thumb is that for every 1 watt you will get 1 mile of coverage guarantee, or more depending on the conditions.
